Posture correction and ergonomics

Rounded shoulders, a forward head and slouching are rarely about willpower. They usually come from how many hours we sit, the set-up of our desk and phone, and which muscles have become tight or weak.

Signs your posture may be causing problems

  • Neck, upper back or lower back ache after sitting
  • Headaches at the end of the work day
  • Shoulders that round forward in photos
  • Feeling stiff when you stand up after a long meeting

Common causes

Laptops at desk height, phones held low, chairs without good support, long periods without moving, and weak upper back and core muscles.

How we help

We assess your posture, flexibility and strength, then combine hands-on care for stiff joints with a short programme of exercises. We give practical advice on screen height, chair set-up and break routines that fits how you actually work.

For companies, we also run free workplace health talks and posture screenings.

How long it takes

Changing posture is a gradual process over weeks, but many people feel less stiffness quickly once their set-up improves.

Your first visit

Your first consultation takes about 25 to 30 minutes and costs $180 before GST. We listen to your history, examine you, explain what we find and what we recommend, and you decide whether to start care. No referral is needed, and insurance claims are supported.

When to see a doctor urgently

Please see a medical doctor or go to A&E (or call 995 in an emergency) if you have:

  • Pain that wakes you at night or does not change with position
  • Numbness or weakness in the arms or legs

Frequently asked questions

Can poor posture be corrected in adults?

Yes. Adults can improve posture with the right mix of joint care, strengthening and changes to daily habits.

Do posture correctors work?

Braces can remind you to sit up but do not build strength on their own. Exercises and a better set-up last longer.

Do you offer workplace talks?

Yes. We run free corporate health talks on posture and ergonomics. Message our corporate WhatsApp to arrange one.
