Common concerns during and after pregnancy
- Low back and pelvic girdle pain, including pain at the front of the pelvis
- Hip and buttock pain, and sciatica-type leg pain
- Upper back, neck and wrist pain from feeding and carrying your baby
- Getting back to exercise safely after birth
How we help
Our doctors use pregnancy-friendly positioning, cushions and gentle, low-force techniques. Care may include adjustments suited to pregnancy, soft-tissue release and simple exercises. After birth, we focus on posture, core recovery and the demands of looking after a newborn.
All our doctors provide prenatal and post-natal care, at both Wisma Atria (Orchard) and Novena. We work alongside your obstetrician or midwife.
Is it safe?
Chiropractic care adapted for pregnancy is generally considered safe for healthy pregnancies. Let your obstetrician know you are having care, and tell us about any complications so we can adjust or refer.
Your first visit
Your first consultation takes about 25 to 30 minutes and costs $180 before GST. We listen to your history, examine you, explain what we find and what we recommend, and you decide whether to start care. No referral is needed, and insurance claims are supported.
When to see a doctor urgently
Please see a medical doctor or go to A&E (or call 995 in an emergency) if you have:
- Vaginal bleeding, fluid leaking or regular contractions
- Severe headache, vision changes or sudden swelling
- Reduced baby movements
- Calf pain and swelling in one leg
Frequently asked questions
When can I start chiropractic care during pregnancy?
Care can be adapted for any trimester. Many mums start when back or pelvic pain begins.
How soon after birth can I come in?
Many mums come in within a few weeks after a straightforward birth. After a caesarean, we usually wait until your doctor is happy with your recovery.
Which clinic should I visit?
Either. All our doctors provide prenatal and post-natal care at both Wisma Atria (Orchard) and Novena, so choose the clinic and time that suit you.
