Paediatric care

Children's spines are still growing, so care for kids is very different from care for adults. We use gentle, low-force techniques and focus on posture, movement and helping active kids stay comfortable.

Common reasons parents bring their children

  • Posture concerns from school bags, desks and devices
  • Sports strains and growing pains
  • Neck and back pain in teenagers
  • Scoliosis checks during growth spurts

How we help

We take a careful history with you, then use age-appropriate examination and very gentle techniques. We give simple advice on school bags, desk set-up and screen time, and exercises that feel like play for younger children.

All our doctors see children at both clinics. We work alongside your paediatrician and refer whenever something needs a medical check.

Your first visit

Your first consultation takes about 25 to 30 minutes and costs $180 before GST. We listen to your history, examine you, explain what we find and what we recommend, and you decide whether to start care. No referral is needed, and insurance claims are supported.

When to see a doctor urgently

Please see a medical doctor or go to A&E (or call 995 in an emergency) if you have:

  • Fever, poor feeding or unusual drowsiness in a baby
  • Pain that wakes your child at night or comes with fever or weight loss
  • Any injury with severe pain or swelling

Frequently asked questions

Is chiropractic safe for children?

Care for children uses much gentler, low-force techniques than for adults. We screen carefully and refer to your child's doctor if anything needs medical attention.

From what age do you see children?

We see babies, children and teenagers. Treatment is always adapted to the child's age and size.

Do parents stay during the visit?

Yes. A parent or guardian is always present for children's visits.
